Jimmy Savile : Compering The Beatles shows was the best work I ever had because I never uttered a word. The NME said 'You could hardly say that Jimmy Savile was overworked, because all he does is rush onstage and introduce The Beatles.' The noise was cacophonous. It was the most heady, thrilling sound in the world, if you could stand it, and all I did was stand by the various rostrums and imitate the guitar-playing action of the three Beatles and Ringo on drums. I whipped the audience into a fever without saying a word.
