Fact #49902

When:

Short story:

Lucky Millinder And His Band record D Natural Blues, for RCA Records in the USA. The track is virtually identical to a better-known song, The Hucklebuck, previously recorded on December 15, 1948 for Savoy Records by Paul Williams. It is believed, however, that Williams first heard it played by Millinder but he took it into the studio first. Both songs, it should be noted, bear a great deal of similarity to Now's The Time, recorded for Savoy by Charlie 'Bird' Parker in 1945.
