During a gig by the rock group Callejeros, a fire breaks out in the Republica Cromanon [CroMagnon Republic] nightclub in Buenos Aires, Argentina, South America, killing 194 people and injuring 714 others. The blaze is started by a pyrotechnic flare. Most of the victims die from inhaling poisonous gases, smoke and carbon monoxide, unlike most accidents of this kind, where most die from crushing or burning.
