A dance marathon contest begins at the Merry Garden ballroom, Chicago, Illinois, USA. It will be won by Mike Ritof and Edith Bourdreaux who will set the world's record for the longest continuous dance, by dancing for 5,154 hours and 48 minutes, ending on April 1, 1931.
