Soprano and vaudeville star Sissieretta Jones, dies of cancer on June 24, 1933 at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. A huge star in her lifetime, she led the Black Patti Troubadours, and was the first black performer to sing at Carnegie Hall. Eevn so, she died in poverty.
