Duke Ellington And His Famous Orchestra play during a second week at The Palladium, London, England, UK, Europe.Soprano and vaudeville star Sissieretta Jones, dies of cancer on June 24, 1933 at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. A huge star in her lifetime, she led the Black Patti Troubadours, and was the first black performer to sing at Carnegie Hall. Eevn so, she died in poverty.
