Mike Nolan of Buck's Fizz is seriously injured when the band's tour bus collides with a lorry on the Great North Road near Newcastle, England, UK, Europe, shortly after the band plays a gig in The City Hall. All four members are injured, but Nolan falls into a coma, seeming so close to death that at one point he is given the last rites.
