Nick Ogilvie is born in Medford, Oregon, USA. He will become a singer, songwriter, guitar, saxophone, harmonica and piano-player, performing in the 60s in San Francisco and Portland, leading The Oriental Blue Streaks and The PH Factor Jugband. A massively popular stalwart of the West Coast scene, Ogilvie will play at the Avalon Ballroom, Fillmore West, Winterland, and The Matrix, sharing bills with The Doors, The Byrds, Jan And Dean and Lightning Hopkins. He will support Jefferson Airplane in Portland's Coliseum; and the Grateful Dead And Quicksilver Messenger Service at the Crystal Ballroom.
