The four-day long MerleFest in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, USA, begins. A business partner of Seungri of the K-pop group Big Bang, confesses to police that he supplied prostitutes to potential Japanese investors. Seungri later admits paying the hotel bill but claims he did not know about the prostitutes

Police in Seoul, South Korea, Asia, request an arrest warrant for Seungri of the K-pop group Big Bang, over allegations that he procured prostitutes for potential investors in his business, siphoned off funds from nightclub Burning Sun, and purchased sexual services for himself on more than three occasions. (The warrant will later be refused by Seoul court).

Stormzy releases a new single, Vossi Bop, on #Merky / Atlantic Records. It will debut at No1 in the UK Singles Chart, giving Stormzy his first No1 single. The track's lyric is fiercely political, including the line, "F**k the government and f**k Boris."
