Jazz and r'n'b saxophonist Noble Watts dies aged 78 from a
combination of pneumonia and emphysema, in DeLand, Florida, USA.
Under the name Noble 'Thin Man' Watts, he played in the house band at The
Apollo, Harlem, new York City, and worked with Lionel Hampton's
Orchestra. As a solo performer he released a series of singles on
Baton Records, including the instrumental hits Hard Times [The
Slop] in 1957 and Jookin' in 1961.
Tim McGraw releases a new album, Live Like You Were Dying, on Curb Records in the USA. The album includes the song Can't Tell Me Nothin', which will become a favourite of teenager Taylor Swift, inspiring her to write the song Tim McGraw, which will become her debut single.
