So I did, and when I recorded it, I loved it so much, I had such a feeling for Ira Hayes. I had been to the Apache country out there, you know. I had seen the old women carrying the big bundle of sticks on their backs for that night's firewood, and seen the poverty, and I had a feeling for it.
