Cliff Richard : It wasn't originally planned as a single. I usually include a couple of rockers on my albums, and this song was cut with that in view, but the beat craze changed our plans.
Hank B. Marvin (guitarist, The Shadows] : We were very annoyed when we read some of the comments on our backing to Cliff's I'm The Lonely One. A couple of writers suggested we were simulating the Mersey Sound. Frankly, I've never read such rubbish.
