Convicted serial killer and sex offender Jeffrey Dahmer is beaten to death by an inmate at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin, USA. Dahmer had murdered 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991, with his crimes involving rape, dismemberment, necrophilia and cannibalism. Numerous songs will be written about his grim exploits, including Dahmer Is Dead by Violent Femmes and Jeffrey Dahmer by Soulfly. In 2000, the grindcore/death metal band Macabre wil record an entire concept album about him, entitled Dahmer.
