Ian Brady and Myra Hindley, later infamously known as The Moors Murderers, abduct 16-year-old Pauline Reade in Gorton, UK, and Brady kills her on the moors nearby. This will prove to be the first of five murders of children aged between 10 and 17 in and around Manchester, UK. The shocking case of Brady and Hindley will become the subject of such songs as Mother Earth by Crass, No One Is Innocent by The Sex Pistols, Suffer Little Children by The Smiths and Very Friendly by Throbbing Gristle.
