Harris-Moore, aka The Barefoot Bandit, is sentenced to more than seven years in prison for dozens of charges, including numerous house burglaries and thefts of cars, boats and aircraft. Harris-Moore suffered serious neglect and abuse as a child, and his crime spree made him something of a folk hero outlaw. Film rights to his life were bought in April 2010 by 20th Century Fox. The 2012 song Tellin' The Mind by Delta Spirit is
inspired by Harris-Moore's exploits.
