publishes a story about the evolving tradition of tying yellow ribbons round trees or
gateposts to welcome returning prisoners back to their homes. The story will inspire songwriters Irwin Levine and Larry Brown to compose Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree, which will become a huge hit in 1973 for Tony Orlando And Dawn.
