Pirate radio station Radio London begins test transmissions from the M.V. Galaxy, anchored in the Thames Estuary, England, UK, Europe. It will quickly become Britain's most popular pirate station, with deejays including John Peel, Tony Blackburn, Kenny Everett, Dave Cash, Pete Drummond, Ed Stewart and Tommy Vance. The station is financed by Texan entrepreneur Don Pierson.
