The first Night Of The Proms, a music event combining rock and classical music, takes place at the Sportpaleis, Antwerp, Belgium. Devised by two students, Jan Vereecke and Jan Van Esbroeck, the event features John Miles, Toots Thielemans and Thijs van Leer of Focus, along with Il Novecento orchestra. Night Of The Proms will become an annual event and will expand into a touring show.
