Pioneering British jazz-rock band Jon Hiseman's Colosseum play at The Marquee Club, Soho, London UK. Their support band for the night, Earth, will change their name to Black Sabbath before the year has ended.

Jim Simpson (manager, Earth/Black Sabbath) : Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osbourne of Earth had joined a blues club I opened in Birmingham in late 1968 and, after I put them on at a couple of local gigs, they asked me to manage them. They were essentially a blues band, but they were looking for a new direction and, even then, Ozzy was absolutely mesmerising on stage.
