Fact #63454
When:
Short story:
Simon and Garfunkel record the songs Homeward Bound, I Am A Rock, and Richard Cory, in New York City, USA, for Columbia Records.
Full article:
Paul Simon (speaking about Homeward Bound) : I'd just played a little folk job. The job of a folk singer in those days was to be Bob Dylan. You had to be a poet. That's what they wanted. And I thought that was a drag. And I wanted to get home to my girlfriend, Kathy in London, England, UK, Europe. I was 22.
Carol Kaye (session bassist) : This date went well and Art and I got very friendly. He's very outgoing whereas Paul was quiet and kept to himself although he was in charge. He got a good sound in the booth and Larry Knechtel is on piano, Hal Blaine on drums. I played on only a few of Simon And Garfunkel's things – their dates were nice but pretty boring.
