The 4,000 seat The Fox Theatre, Brooklyn, New York City, USA, opens for its first show, featuring George Jessel [aka Georgie Jessel] with Charles Previn conducting The Fox Theatre Grand Orchestra in a thunderous rendition of Wagner's Tannhauser Overture. Other entertainment includes The 16 'Fox-Tillerettes' dancing a tarantella. Generally known as The Brooklyn Fox, it will become one of the best-loved entertainment venues in the city, offering top flight musical entertainment through until 1970.
