Chris Hutchins (reviewer, NME) : When I called at Hammersmith Odeon the day before Christmas Eve they were preparing Another Beatles Christmas Show. On John Lennon's face I noted a bored expression, and the next night I found out why as I sat through 100 minutes of entertainment which just doesn't do the world's top attraction justice.
Elkie Brooks : We somehow managed to knock the show into shape the night before we opened, but there were disappointments ahead. Although I had spent nearly two years singing with Eric Delaney's band, I had never appeared in a big-time show before. I imagined that the stars would gather round after the show each night and I would end up in The Beatles' dressing room drinking champagne. In fact the only thing I drank during the show's run was Guinness. And I drank that alone in my own dressing room with only the TV set for company.
