Sid Bernstein (promoter) : We turned so many people away at Carnegie Hall in '64 that I just thought they could fill a stadium. And I was right. Brian Epstein wasn't too anxious to do Shea Stadium. I offered to pay him for every seat that was unsold or empty. That turned his head around. He said, 'Let's do it, Sid.'
