Fact #49903

When:

Short story:

Paul Williams records The Hucklebuck, in New York City, USA, for Savoy Records. The song is virtually identical to D Natural Blues by Lucky Millinder And His Band, on RCA Records. It is believed that Williams first heard it played by Millinder but he took it into the studio first. Both songs, it should be noted, bear a great deal of similarity to Now's The Time, recorded for Savoy by Charlie 'Bird' Parker in 1945.
