While making folk music recordings for the Library Of Congress, Alan Lomax records sixteen year old miner's daughter Georgia Turner singing House Of The Rising Sun, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, USA. This is one of the earliest recordings of the song which will become a folk standard with versions recorded by Woody Guthrie, Leadbelly, Bob Dylan and others, before providing an international hit for The Animals in 1964.
