The Mills Novelty Company, incorporated in Chicago, Illinois, USA, makes its first release of a reel of 'soundies' - short promotional films of musical performances - to jukebox owners in the USA, by the Soundies Distributing Corporation of America. Soundies, precursors of the pop video, were manufactured specifically for use in a presentation mechanism called the Mills Panoram.
