The first all-black radio show, The All Negro Hour, debuts on WSBC-AM in Chicago, Illinois, USA. The show is hosted by Jack L. Cooper, later described as The Godfather of Black Radio. From the early 1930's Cooper will play records over the air using a domestic phonograph, earning him a claim to the title of first disc jockey.
