Fact #32587

When:

Short story:

The Small Faces play at The Cavern In The Town, off Leicester Square, London, UK.

Full article:

Ian Samwell (producer/songwriter) : An agent called Don Arden sent me down to see this group playing in a little club just off Leicester Square. I stood at the back and listened to them and they were awful but when I got up closer to the stage, I saw that it was Steve Marriott who I knew from hanging around La Gioconda on Denmark St.

So I went backstage and talked to him. Truth to tell, they were pretty awful but they had a good drummer. He held the whole thing together.
