John Lee Hooker : You know why, after all this time, I got into your charts with Dimples? Because of The Beatles, that's who. The biggest thing in the business. They sing a lot of what I've sung for years. Boy, I'm grateful to them.
Know what I was for years? A professional hobo, a bum. Guess you'd call me a tramp. I didn't have any money and I figured I didn't need any. Just so long as folk'd buy me a drink or a meal for playing my guitar and singing.
Steve Winwood (The Spencer Davis Group) : You have to remember that at that time, blues was world music. It was no different from African or Indian - it was hard to find, and it came from another world.
