American soul and blues guitarist Charles 'Skip' Pitts dies aged 65 of cancer at The Methodist Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, USA. Pitts was best-known for his distinctive 'wah-wah' style, prominently featured on Isaac Hayes' title track from the 1971 movie Shaft, but he is also widely considered one of the architects of soul, R'n'B and funk guitar.
