A newly-published online survey of 7,380 people in the UK by market research agency YouGov SixthSense finds that radio is the most popular medium for discovering new music. A third [33%] of those surveyed cited radio, 28% cited recommendations made by friends/word of mouth. 26% found new music mainly via YouTube while 13% cited Facebook or other social networks. Other significant sources included TV or radio advertising [14%], Amazon/iTunes [13%], newspapers [11%], music magazines [5%], music news and reviews websites (4%), last.fm [4%], music magazines' websites (3%) and MySpace [2%].
