Full article:
A rush of adrenaline shot through me when I heard the opening drumbeats of this debut by New Jersey neo-punk quintet The Static Jacks. It was unmistakeable. I was in the presence of the same pure spirit that motivated The Ramones, The Clash and Green Day. This is take-no-prisoners garage rock, mostly at breakneck speed, but with those gorgeous touches of melodic imagination and tight arrangements that set it apart from the crowd. Singer Ian Devaney roars like Joe Strummer crossed with Brian Setzer, and when he applies that roar to the soaring anthemic choruses of cuts like Into The Sun and This Is Me Dancing the urge to crank up the volume is irresistible.
