Ray Davies (The Kinks] : I went down there one night, and there was this band playing, a blues band. A guy called Hamilton King ran the band with another guy called Dave Hunt.

The Stones were doing the fill-in spot. Hamilton King and Dave Hunt had come out for a drink and were discussing them. I said, 'I'd like to see the group.'
