Two bombs fall down a ventilation shaft into the basement ballroom of the Cafe de Paris, London, England, UK, Europe, and explode in front of the stage. At least 34 people are killed and around 80 injured. The victims include the 26-year-old bandleader Ken 'Snakehips' Johnson, his saxophonist Dave 'Baba' Williams, clarinettist Carl Barriteau, other musicians, staff and diners.
