Roger Daltrey (vocalist, The Who) : I said, 'Look, I promise not to fight any more.' At that time, I didn't know any other way to articulate my feelings. I was brought up a lot rougher than them. Pete was middle class and so was John. I was this little guy, and the only way I could solve anything was to have it out there and then. I decided to learn to bite my lip. Moon, of course, had a field day. He made me this figure of fun and there was nothing I could do about it.
John Entwistle (bassist, The Who) : There was a certain amount of pride swallowed on each side. Roger promised not to hit us and we promised to behave.
