Simon And Garfunkel release the re-mixed version of their flop single The Sound Of Silence on Columbia Records in the USA. This version features electric rock instruments added by producer Tom Wilson to make the track more contemporary. The strategy will prove to have been successful when the song goes to No1 in the USA at the start of January 1966.
