Fact #192146

When:

Short story:

The Clayton Squares play at performance poet Adrian Henri's Bomb Event in The Cavern Club, Liverpool, England, UK, Europe.

Full article:

Mike Evans (Clayton Squares) : We took part in Bomb with Adrian Henri, Brian Patten and Roger McGouigh. It was a multi-media thing as the band played in the middle where the chairs normally were, and all kinds of weird things were happening on stage. We played Charlie Mingus's Oh Lord Don't Let Them Drop That Atomic Bomb On Me and Ray Charles' Danger Zone. They were warnings about the nuclear holocaust and Brian Patten came on wrapped in bandages. He looked like The Invisible Man and he was a post-Bomb zombie. There was an explosion at the end and paper fell down on the audience like confetti. It represented fallout. It was all very pre-psychedelic and it was revolutionary in its own way.
