The Goldebriars, an aspiring pop group from Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, which includes Curt Boettcher who will go on to enjoy a solo career as an artist and producer, is in the middle of recording an album at Columbia Studios on 30th Street, New York City, USA. While walking down the street, the group members notice that people on the sidewalks are crying, and soon after they learn that President John F. Kennedy has been assassinated in Dallas, Texas. That day's Goldebriars recording session still goes on as planned.

Dotti Holmberg (The Goldebriars) : We had to continue with recording that same evening and that was pretty hard but of course we had to do that. It was a pretty difficult day to get through.
