Tony McPhee (The Groundhogs) : I saw The Yardbirds at The Star, Croydon, not long after Eric had joined. He was playing a Kay electric with a very warped neck – so warped that the only way he could play it was by putting a capo on halfway up the neck but, even then, he was great.
