Calvin Carter (A + R man, Vee-Jay Records] : We got into a little trouble financially because of the deal with The Four Seasons. We were giving them 16 cents per record including publishing, so therefore we were losing two points for every record we sold for them. Now the first three records sold in excess of one million each, so we got behind with them.
