The coroner will rule her death as "undetermined/accident/suicide", and her death certificate will describe the immediate cause as "probable acute barbiturate intoxication" due to ethanol intoxication. Inspired by Sedgewick's tragic life and death, The Adult Net will release the single, Edie, in 1985 on Beggars Banquet Records in the UK.
