Chas Chandler (manager, Slade) : I was supposed to look for new acts (for The Robert Stigwood Organisation) and do some record production. One day I had a call from a guy who told me about this group called Slade and that they wanted a manager. I went down to see them and they knocked me out. I was as impressed when I first saw Slade as I was when I first saw Jimi Hendrix.
