His hair was long with a slight wave and I thought it was appealing. I suggested that Elvis take a look at it. ‘Are you goddam crazy?’ he shouted. ‘After all these years, Ricky Nelson, Fabian, that whole group have followed in my footsteps, and now I’m supposed to copy them? You gotta be out of your mind, woman.’
