Jack Barrie (director, The Marquee Club) : He really did live for music. He was a great champion of punk and really did come into his own in that era. A lot of bands owe some of their early breaks to him. The Police and Pretenders are two that come to mind. He was a great influence in that respect and was always listened to. He put a lot of heart and energy into his work.
