Harold Pendleton (owner, The Marquee] : I never actually saw the Stones play. They were the interval band at The Marquee, and the only time I ever actually saw them was when I was walking out of the club with Cyril Davies one night, and I saw them packing their gear in a van. I called out, 'Goodnight!' and they replied with a hearty 'Fuck off." I asked Cyril what their problem was, and he said, "Oh, I've just fired them. That was the last time they played at The Marquee.
