Full article:

Claudio Trotta (promoter, Barley Arts) : : Franco Mamone promoted several Springsteen tours in Italy.

In 1996, Franco needed to operate from the Barley office due to some defamation issues. He was not going through an easy time and I was available to provide some sort of help, but I did not get too much involved with his work.

One night, during a dinner, he introduced me to Bruce. We went through the night eating and chatting and later, during a walk in the city, Bruce disappeared. Suddenly, as if he was Houdini!

Terry, Bruce’s best friend and personal assistant, pretended not to worry, but clearly, he was. They were very close and when Terry died in 2008, Bruce took on the habit of having a huge teddy bear with Terry’s name written on its t-shirt, outside his dressing room.

Franco died in 1998 and Barry Bell, Bruce’s agent, gave the tours promotions to me. I have lasting memories of the concert of April 1999 in Bologna, it was my first with him and also of the one in 2003 when despite the rain, no-one in the public was looking for shelter, on that occasion, even Bruce, before boarding the plane told me that he was going to treasure that night under the rain in his heart.
