Short story:

When Echo And The Bunnymen headline the first York Rock Festival at York Racecourse, Yorkshire, England, UK, Europe, there is an altercation between singer Ian McCulloch of The Bunnymen, and bouncer Eric Newby. McCulloch claims to have been beaten up backstage, but Newby denies the charge. The accusation will be repeated in court in early 1985. Also on the bill at York are Spear Of Destiny, Sisters Of Mercy, The Chameleons and The Redskins.
