The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band release a new single, I'm The Urban Spaceman, in the UK, Europe. The producer credit is shown as Apollo C. Vermouth, but is actually Paul McCartney of The Beatles.

Tony Stratton Smith (manager, Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band) : Mentally, the Bonzos were a collection of chaotic talents and they created this incredible thing between them. But they never really thought like a band; they all fought for their individuality. Like Legs Larry Smith always had to have more sequins than anybody else. But that was easy - nobody else liked sequins. 

"What they needed - and they got it in England - was a steady success. But in America, they didn't get it. The Nice were hard-nosed professionals. The Bonzos did it because they enjoyed doing it. And the minute it started becoming a nightmare, they decided they'd had enough.
