David Whitehorn (fan) : In August 1968 I set off on my bike to find George Harrison's bungalow in Esher, Surrey. I never imagined I would actually locate it and meet a Beatle. I asked a little boy and he pointed towards this private estate. I crunched up the gravel drive and there they were, George and Patti Boyd, sitting by the pool. I strolled over. I was 15 and totally awestruck. He autographed a crumpled piece of paper I found. Then he noticed my mudguard was catching the wheel, knelt down and bent the wire away from the tyre.
'That's better,' he said and wished me a safe journey home.
