Don Was (producer) : It wasn’t even a song. They jam – improvise on a groove. They start building from floor to ceiling, yellow legal pads of memorable lines. Love Shack was a twelve foot shopping list of great lines with no context. We laid out the pieces of yellow paper and made a song.

Fred Schneider (vocalist, B-52s) : It made No1 at all sorts of stations, but never No1 all over the country. Of course, we were up against Milli Vanilli and Paula Abdul.
