Full article:

John Butler (Diesel Park West) : I met them when they were doing Steel Wheels. I spent a night in the studio with them when they were doing Terrifying and that one that Keith sings, Slippin’ Away. That was a turn-on. Chris Kimsey asked me to go down and meet them, so I did.

Keith was supposed to be there at nine. He got there at two, chain-smoking. He looked about 140, very thin, emaciated, he’s got this sort of power from his face. You could be forgiven for thinking that there’s no way he could play Come On even. He went out into the studio, picked up a guitar and started boogying on this blues jam, and it was fantastic. It was like only he plays.

When I left the studio, my over-riding impression was that I’d been in a room with 48-year old rhythm’n’blues enthusiasts from Dartford. Nothing more, nothing less. That was my lasting impression. The fact that they are who they are is just a by-product of that enthusiasm.
